Flat foot: Usually when someone is walking on the instep or arch this is a flat foot deformity. There are various reasons for this deformity in the arch. Some simple ways to treat this if it is painful are to use some over the counter inserts like power steps or doctor scholls. Also a stable athletic shoe will help. If these treatments don't help then you may need a custom orthotic or possibly surgery.
