A member asked:

Will augmentin clear up the infection from a cat bite or should i also soak my finger in epsom salts to help it heal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should: Augmentin is the initial drug chosen to treat a cat bite. Soaking the finger could over hydrate the wound & interfere with tissue healing. Using a warm compress would provide the heat needed to improve circulation & improve healing without the excess tissue water.
