Yes: The marrow is where the blood cells are produced and thus the circulation mostly gets the cells from the marrow. I think a hemoglobin of 2.7 is life-threatening and I would be surprised if you are not already very tired, short of breath, or fainting. A transfusion is likely needed but more importantly finding out the cause for the low hgb.
