Wife had a c section 2 days ago. her blood results came back and not normal. her hemoglobin came 9 2 days ago and today it came 5. is it normal for it to drop like that? they started her on iron but still low? what should she do?

I hope the mother and baby are doing well, congratulations. The drop is significant enough to have done something beyond just giving Iron is what I suspect. However the best thing is to wait for the body to rebuild the loss back. The significant drop may be a delayed drop from the blood loss from surgery or she may be bleeding after surgery but the medical team on, since she could not go home yet.
