One of the more: common manifestations of thinning of bone surrounding the balance membrane/semicircular canal is superior semicircular canal dehiscence. It is estimated that perhaps 2% of people have this. If present, this may cause you to perceive/hear blood flow. The only treatment that might help is surgical--resurfacing the canal or plugging it. This requires consultation with a specialized ENT surgeon.
