A member asked:

Why my carotid arteries (pulse) are visible? i am 27 years old and very thin. does it have to do with my blood pressure? and i heart beats in my ear when im laying down?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Carotid artery is one of the most visible of all the arteries in the body. That is because it is not covered by the neck muscles all that well. Since you do not have much fat padding(you are too thin), this makes the arteries more visible. If you have further concerns, get your blood pressure checked and also have your doctor check your heart for any problem with your heart valves.
