Bruit: Yes, if you compress your carotid artery it can cause turbulent flow which is to write a carotid brewery. This can be heard in your ear as pulsatile flow. I do not recommend that you compress your carotid artery is this can cause one to pass out or in rare cases fracture a plaque present within the artery.
