Wisdom tooth: Your wisdom tooth may be erupting and some sensitivity is common, however so are infections. You should see a dentist about this. If there is an infection your dentist will treat this with antibiotics and determine if extraction will be needed. In the meantime eel the area as clean as you can, warm salt water rinse and OTC pain meds like ibuprofen can help.

3rd molars: Because 3rd molars are so far back, they are very difficult to clean. Swollen gums may be due to tooth position, angulations, compromised brushing, compromised flossing, food impaction, or many other causes. See your Dentist for immediate help.
