Not much: Most people have been exposed to HSV1 at some time and thus the IgG antibody- which actually offers protection against the virus. HSV2 is however a different story.

How accurate is a blood test for type specific ab hsv 1&2 igg after waiting 5 years to test from possible exposure? I tested both negative in 2018 and 2020 but think I contracted oral herpes back in 2013?
