What is the best treatment for mycoplasma hominis when its diagnosed as an sti?

Harmless, not an STD: Mycoplasma hominis is a normal bacteria in the genital tract. It can be shared among sex partners, but causes no disease and is not considered an STD. Whatever symptoms you have, M. hominis is not the cause and I cannot imagine a good reason why you might have been tested for it. Discuss with your doctor, or see a genitourinary medicine specialst, e.g. maybe visit your local GUM clinic. Good luck!

I have just been tested for mycoplasma genitalium (via a urine sample). I have never heard of this and despite regular 3 monthly sti screenings believe I have never been screen for it. Should I be concerned (gay male)?
