In general, can shave biopsy diagnose melanoma (not in situ)?

Not a good way to: test. Shave biopsy of a mole is not a good way to diagnose melanoma. The mole or the suspected lesion should be excised fully and submitted to a pathologist for examination. Shave biopsy of a suspected melanoma is a bad idea.
