A member asked:

When doing a mri on the brain for nystagmus, it is possible to get inaccurate results due being under anesthesia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The MRI examines the tissues within the brain. Of particular interest would be an abnormal structure within the brain that would trigger such twitching. Its size/shape or location would not be influenced by anesthesia/sleep or other state. In fact, to get the best study your head must remain still or the pictures would be blurry.
