A member asked:

What other tests can be done on a 1year old for acquired nystagmus? mri came back good. very slight astigmatism in right eye, otherwise healthy eyes.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Serial neuro exams: In addition to being followed by a pediatric ophthalmologist I would make sure that you have a good pediatric neurologist and a pediatrician coordinating care. Not necessary to have more tests per se but careful serial exams, and monitoring for pituitary dysfunction (in case nystagmus is due to a condition called Septo-Optic Dysplasia
