I have large diverticuli in the sigmoid, i don't have diverticulitis but i experience tenderness in lower part is that possible from large diverticuli?

Yes: Diverticulosis, can hurt, not from inflammation like diverticulitis, but from bowel spasms. A lot of people would see changes in their bowel habits and sigmoid anatomy before actual diverticuli appear.. You may also have diverticulitis with minimal infection, that did not cause abscess but still causing inflammation and pain.
