Prevention: Think about what caused the problem in the first place and try to avoid or alter the activity that led to the problem. Rotator cuff strengthening and scapular stablizer exercises can be helpful. Rotator cuff issues in your age are often due to overaggressive weight-lifting or excessive overhead activity.
