2-12 weeks: Rest is relative. Stop the activity that seemed to provoke it. If still hurts walking around after a a week or more see a doctor may need an MRI to rule out a partial tear . Short leg brace or heel lift may be necessary as well as a course of physical therapy. Restart slow and warm up and stretch.
