A member asked:

My question is can you get rabies from touching a hose that someone else touched after cleaning up a dead skunk?

No: The most common mode of rabies transmission is through the bite and virus-containing saliva of an infected animal. Rarely transmission has been documented through contamination of mucous membranes (eyes, nose mouth), through air/aerosol transmission, organ transplantation. Not confirmed skunk had rabies...you touched a hose the cleaner touched. No risk. Stay well:)
