A member asked:

Would it be correct to order a low dose aspirin for 1 coiled and 2 unruptured brain aneurysms if so why?

Dr. Kevin Yoo answered

Depends: Aspirin is used to thin blood. It is commonly used in aneurysm treatment with coiling if a pipe or a stent was used to help with coiling. This is because the pipe/stent has a risk of clotting off as it is a foreign body in which case you will have a stroke.
