I've taken ambien (zolpidem) 12.5 cr for year. i'm cutting it down now to 6.25 cr. some nights i get no sleep at all with this change. can i take melatonin too?

Yes: It is fine to take some melatonin to try and help you taper off the ambien (zolpidem). Getting off the ambien (zolpidem) is a great idea. It can disrupt normal sleep cycles for a long time.
