A member asked:

Please define in simple language, aorta: moderate atherosclerosis.i had a ct scan on my kidneys which showed stones and i noticed this in the report. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blockage in vessel: Atherosclerosis implies plaque build up in an artery, leading to stenosis/narrowing of that vessel. The aorta is the large artery that leads blood away from the heart to the arms and legs. Moderate is worse than mild, but not severe. If on a scale of 1 to 10, moderate would be a "5."
