Hysterosalpingogram: Yes. The hysterosalpingogram is performed in the radiology department. It can often diagnose asherman's syndrome, which is scarring from a prior d&c. Also, another test called a hysteroscopy can be performed in the office setting(in select situations) or in the operating room that also can diagnose scarring.

Diagnosing D&C scars: Sometimes a simple pelvic examination by your gynecologist can determine what is stopping you from having your periods. Other times it is more complicated and other examinations may be needed- either blood tests to rule out an endocrine reason for lack of periods or a hysteroscopy when they look inside the uterus with a scope to see what's going on.
