A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: One does not want to end up with permanent nerve damage. A paresthesia is an unusual sensation, and can be anywhere in the body where there are sensory nerves. It may mean there is something irritating a nerve or nerves from the spinal cord to the affected area. A primary care doctor can evaluate, and may refer to a neurologist, neurosurgeon, or physical medicine doctor.
