Rx you, not lab: If this high value is due To hemochromatosis, as I suspect it is, you will need scientific Rx, probably phlebotomy, to manage it. Of all the highly lethal diseases of young adults, hemochromatosis is the easiest to manage. Noncompliance will cost you your life. If the high ferritin is due to the acute phase reaction, it is a non-issue.
