A member asked:

Upper abdominal pain for two days now. right under my chest. painful to press. pain never goes away but does get better at times. feels kind of like a?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can evaluate: Upper abdominal pain can be from "acid" pains, such as a stomach ulcer, just gastritis with no ulcer, or reflux (heartburn). An infection with H. pylori bacteria can lead to stomach ulcer pains (an acid blocker can help). One needs more evaluation by her primary care doctor. Heart disease, rib and cartilage problems, pancreatitis, gallstones, or various cancers can cause upper abdominal pain.
