Cannot be cured: Epilepsy with rare exceptions are not curable. Those exceptions are only in patients that have something that can be cut out surgically such as mesial temporal sclerosis, brain tumors, or entire hemispherectomy. So, to answer your questions, I need to know the cause of your brother's epilepsy. Epilepsy is a disease that is predominantly controlled with medications and rarely with stimulator.
