A member asked:

Are there any imaging studies that can diagnose a stomach ulcer? is an endoscopy the only way?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Barium: Endoscopy is generally the best way, as it allows direct visualization and a biopsy if needed. A well formed ulcer could be detected by x-ray examination after barium intake. It would be prudent to discuss the matter with your doctor. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
