A member asked:

Why is recommended to not induce vomiting after getting accidentally poisoned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Corrosive poisons like acids and lye should not be vomited out because they will erode the esophagus further on the reverse passage. Poisons like pills and toxins with no corrosive effect can be removed in part by induced vomiting. So it depends upon the substance ingested
