Is slipping rib syndrome different from costochondritis? would xrays show it? i was told its costochondritis but i went cause my ribs cave in like srs

Different : Neither can be seen on Xray as too subtle. Slipped rib syndrome is often a missed diagnosis as it is not taught in many medical schools. No: No they are not the same. Costochondritis is an inflammatory condition that involves the rib- cartilage junction. "Slipping rub syndrome" implies some degree of instability and/ or abnormal motion. Don't hesitate to discuss directly with the physician who gave you that diagnosis.
