Got diagnosed with costocondritus. had left rib pain for eight years and x-ray doesnt show anything. hurts when i lay on my right side. i can lay on my left or put a pillow under. its lasted eight years.i dont think its costocondritus?

it's unusual to have a symptom like that last for 8 years. An X-ray would not not show anything. It's possible that your rib is aligned in such a way that lying on it puts pressure on it causing pain. If putting a pillow under it helps and you're able to sleep on your left side then I wouldn't worry about it since 1) it's of no danger to you and 2) there's probably little else you can do about it

An x-ray will not prove or rule out costochondritis. Please have your physician review your history and and examine you. This will be far more useful than a single "test". Good luck.
