Depression: Just because you go to the ER does not mean you are going to be admitted to a psych ward. In fact the vast majority of patients are not. However, you can get steered the right way to resources that can help you. If you are having suicidal thoughts you should be seen.

You can do: therapy with a trained psychologist and seek a competent psychiatrist so you don't have to do the mental ward. You may have to bee seen frequently until they can stabilize you and see you once weekly. Good luck.
