First molar loss: Is it a primary (baby tooth) or permanent tooth? Primary molars are generally lost naturally around the age of 10 to 12 years of age and 13 is late but not necessarily a problem. Losing a permanent first molar is always an unfortunate tragedy at any age and certainly not normal.

See your DDS: See your dentist for a complete examination and x-rays to determine which tooth is lost. Most likely it was a primary tooth.

NO: No. Most common cause is pain/non-restorable decay. If tooth requires extraction, see an oral surgeon
