Tooth Extraction: You do not have another tooth erupting in that spot. Among many possibilities, you may have a broken root tip, a bone spicule, or a dry socket. Call your dentist for a post op visit.

Extraction: If it was a first molar that was removed, there is no replacement tooth. You may have a dry socket. See your treating Dentist. (S)he is responsible for your post-surgical care. Also speak to Dentist about tooth replacement to prevent "posterior bite collapse."

Need Xray: I do not think any tooth is growing in the area Your Dentist can take X-ray of the extracted site to rule out any broken piece of the tooth or what you see is part of your jaw bone around the extracted tooth Socket.
