Dry mucous membranes: It is common to get a dry nose , mouth pharynx and upper airway at night. I am not quite sure what the humidity is, but I see you are from SC and I am sure the temperatures are hot. Water at bedside and try nasal saline before going to bed.

Nasal Cycle: Your nasal mucosa has cycles of congestion and decongestion. These can be exaggerated by lowering your head (sleeping) and by allergies (dust mites in pillows). That is unlikely related to discomfort from sleeping on your stomach.
