Do not be afraid: You really need to see a gynecologist. Choose a woman who will be very gentle and caring, will not hurt you with her exam, and will find the cause of the problem and correct it effectively. At 16 without being sexually active this can be very frightening, but you will find a friend in the doctors office who will help you get over this. Good luck.
