Always possible: However, it is very common for patients with pcos to miss a period. Because you are not ovulating on the regular basis. If you are trying to conceive, i would recommend to see an rei doctor for help. But if you are not interested to get pregnant now, i would suggest you to take ocp to regulate your period.

Why stop Metformin?: Insulin resistance is a characteristic of PCOS. I don't understand why your physician told you to discontinue Metformin. Metformin is the drug of choice for PCOS, and should be continued (unless you are allergic to it). You should also evaluate your thyroid (most with PCOS are also hypothyroid). Add the herb Berberine to your regimen.
