Why stop Metformin?: Insulin resistance is a characteristic of PCOS. I don't understand why your physician told you to discontinue Metformin. Metformin is the drug of choice for PCOS, and should be continued (unless you are allergic to it). You should also evaluate your thyroid (most with PCOS are also hypothyroid). Add the herb Berberine to your regimen.
