A member asked:

If i am forming a cataract in my left eye, would this effect my near point and distance vision? or, only distance, in most situations?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Cataracts affect visual quality. Cataracts vary on the type and density. Your vision may be interfered by the cataract in many ways. Sometimes distance vision is affected primarily, other times it's mainly near vision. Of course, both far and near vision can be affected. So it all depends on what you're primarily doing and how you feel your vision is affected.
