Can i train my non-dominant eye for distance? cataract surgery in dominant right eye shot for 20-20, instead left me with great close vision.

Yes: It would not be unreasonable to target the second eye for distance vision. However, if the first eye was targeted for distance, and you ended up near instead, the same may happen to the second eye.

Maybe: About half of patients can switch their ocular dominance. You can confirm this by performing a contact lens trial and seeing what happens. If it does not work, a laser touch up to eliminate the residual near sightedness can be considered.
