A member asked:

What's the explanation for a constant need to swallow saliva? i feel like if don't swallow it i'll have it accumulate and need to swallow or spit out

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Saliva is Okay: This is similar to unnatural fear of dogs. Fancy name is Cognitive Dysfunction. You have concluded that the saliva is a bad thing and shouldn't be swallowed. However Benadryl (diphenhydramine) does make the throat dry and might be a factor - why not switch to a less drying antihistamine Cognitive therapy is where the psychologist explains so you really really understand fully that dogs or saliva are not a "bad."
