A member asked:

All of a sudden i've started to notice i have excess saliva building up in my mouth and find myself constantly swallowing, i also have a sore throat?

Dr. can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold virus, influenza (Tamiflu may be needed), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, is with moderate or high fever, or with much coughing or worrisome symptoms. "Excess saliva" can also occur with huge tonsils or tonsillar abscess.
