Oral herpes: This sounds like a fairly severe oral herpes infection, probably your first one, right? Not a reucrrent cold sore? You should be on an anti-herpes drug by mouth, such as valacyclovir or acyclovir. Discuss with doctor ASAP; treatment must be started early to do any good. Have PCR test for HSV and start Rx even if the diagnosis isn't certain; if not herpes, it won't do any harm. Good luck!
