Fatty lipoma?: The swelling and your knee pain may or may not be related. The swelling may be a lipoma which is benign fatty tumor. Without examining the area cannot give a precise diagnosis. A malignancy would not be a concern if the swelling is soft. You would need to see a physician in order to get a precise diagnosis. Best wishes.
