First off, I am not: a tattoo expert, but I got my first one last year...age 65! I'm not sure you can tell if it went too deep...I understand that there can be a little greenish tint initially which fades/disappears. Probably indicates a minor amount of bleeding with normal discoloration of tiny bruise. Not significant that there is no scab. Apparently, rare to go too deep; then risk of scarring. I think you're good:)
