A member asked:

I noticed a twitch on my tongue about a week ago and its still there. it is one spot on the right edge of my tongue and is constant micro-twitches (like popping) when i stick it out. it is completely still at rest. is this concerning?

This may be a simple manifestation of tongue muscle irritability or fatigue when you stretch the tongue. If there are frequent tongue twitches or severe spasms, a condition called lingual dystonia could be the cause. In your case I wouldn't worry about serious neurological issues especially in the absence of other symptoms. An oral surgeon or ENT specialist can advise you if you still have concern
