A member asked:

My friend went for swimming and she had an inflammation in her ears, dr said she has to take cortisol medicine called decort, so? should she take it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cortisol for Earache: I think you mean cortisone ear drop. That is standard medication. Many doctors recommend antihistamine esp during sleep to prevent scratching or digging in the ear. If swelling doesn't respond to decort drops, ask doctor about using Clear.ease - papain/ bromelain lozenges to reduce swelling. prevent Swimmer's Ear, avoid getting shampoo into the ear. This dries the oil, get infected with water
