A member asked:

Hx: swimming. now ear ache x3dys, pain/inflammation ++, red/tender/difficult and painful to chew food/swallow. doing tylenol, advil and warm compress?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Otitis: This may be swimmers ear or external otitis which is an infection/inflammation of the ear canal treated with prescription ear drops like cortisporin otic. However there could be an infection of the eardrum itself requiring oral antibiotic treatment. I recommend that you be examined by a physician for proper diagnosis and treatment.
