At this size: it should pass. Assuming you have no other conditions that would predispose you to calcium or uric acid stones and this is your first episode, you should be ok. Assuming that you have a calcium phosphate type stone, things to avoid are dehydration and foods that contain high calcium or phosphates. Drink plenty of fluids, but avoid colas.

Kidney stone. : Mm or cm? A stone 5mm in size or smaller should pass, albeit with some degree of pain and with drinking lots of water. Bigger stones have a very good chance of getting stuck, which can lead to crazy pains and infections, too. At that size, it should pass, and when it does you need to catch it (urinate into coffee filter) and have it sent to lab for metabolic analysis.
