Depends : Sometimes- additional measures at home would help prevent dvts after surgery- but most of the time- your healthcare provider is expecting better activity and more movement once a patient gets home. If a patient is high risk- cancer, obese , lengthy time with immobility, or spinal cord injury- additional precautions may be in order. Home exercises and good activity is usually enough.
