Why/how can you still get a dvt/pe during/after surgery even after compression stockings, massage boots and blood thinners? how is this possible?

Stuff happens: Most of the time in life, we are lucky and bad things don't happen to us after we take the proper precautions. But, the world is not a perfect place. Stuff happens sometimes. Should we stay at home and never go out to try things? No! We look at the risks and the benefits, and then go out and live life. Look both ways, have faith, and then cross the street... you'll ALMOST never get run over.
