Patient concerns: I commend you for your desire for Good Health. Medications have benefits and side effects, Some medications taken together can have more side effects, and can cause risk to Health. Your Health is precious! Make a list of all medications, • Reasons for taking • Dose, • duration, • Side effects Then Discuss with your PCP and Psychiatrist, and request them to collaborate in your care.

Definitely: it is important that every doctor you see knows ALL medications you are taking. Challenging each of your doctors to let you know about potential side effects and interactions between your medications is not only necessary, but an important part of advocating for your own treatment to optimize your physical and mental health. Take care

Never hurts: Wish that there were more doctor to doctor communication as you request, as drug-drug interactions are very frequent and each needs to know what other is doing. This was supposed to be corrected by electronic medical records, but the different systems are incompatible. Yes, please be pro-active.
