Ask your doctor: A major drug Interaction exists between Citalopram and tramadol (potential serotonin syndrome). Ask your doctor to help you weigh the risks and benefits when you make decisions about the medicines you use.

TRamadol Citalopram: Firstly the tramadol dose per day of 400mg is a little high. Secondly the Citalopram is a serotonin uptake inhibitor and TRamadol has the same action. The potential for serotonin does exist. Due to this is is always safe to start with lower doses first and titrate up as needed as long as no side effects are noted.
